Suicide Prevention Bench

On 30th August 2024, Football Legend Micky Hazard along with Ossie Ardiles, unveiled a bench in Grove House Gardens, Dunstable, to promote awareness of suicide prevention and the importance of talking about mental health. The bench is number 9 of many now installed across the UK and was provided for free by the charity set up by Micky and his sister Michelle in tribute to Michelle's son Jay.

The bench lights up at night emphasising the light in the dark and that someone is always listening. It has details of contacts that could be needed in a mental health crisis and can always be seen, day or night.

If you are in crisis, you can call the Samaritans 24/7 on 116123 from any phone (free).

There are many other resources, please just never feel alone, someone is always listening.
