The Globe Inn Pub & Dining Leighton Buzzard

The Globe Inn – Where Leighton Buzzard’s History Meets the Waterside
Standing beside the Grand Union Canal in Old Linslade, The Globe Inn is much more than a local pub. It is a Grade II-listed building with roots stretching back to the 18th century and a long connection to the canal, local travellers and generations of residents.
Bedfordshire Archives suggests the inn may date from around the time the Grand Junction Canal opened in 1800. By 1885, it was already described as an “old-established beer-house,” complete with a parlour, tap room, kitchen, bedrooms, stables and adjoining pasture.
Over the decades, The Globe has welcomed canal workers, local families, travellers and visitors, evolving from a traditional beer-house into the welcoming waterside pub and restaurant enjoyed today.
Visitors can now enjoy classic pub food, drinks, Sunday roasts and relaxed gatherings in a historic setting.
The pub has a waterside beer garden, family-friendly facilities, a children’s menu, vegetarian and vegan options, disabled access, parking and a dog-friendly atmosphere.
Whether you are stopping for lunch beside the canal, meeting friends for drinks, enjoying a family meal or discovering a little piece of local history, The Globe Inn combines centuries of character with the comforts of a modern community pub.
Historic character. Waterside dining. A warm local welcome.
