The Five Bells Pub | Stanbridge

🍻 The Five Bells, Stanbridge
Standing proudly in Stanbridge for more than 300 years, The Five Bells is one of Bedfordshire’s oldest and most historic public houses.
Records suggest the inn dates back to at least the 17th century, with references to ownership stretching back to around 1700. The building itself is Grade II listed and has been at the heart of village life for generations, serving travellers, locals, farmers and families alike.
Historic records show The Five Bells hosted auctions, community gatherings and local events throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1927, valuation records described it as “the pub around here”, highlighting its importance to village life.
Today, The Five Bells combines its rich heritage with a warm welcome, seasonal British dining and a vibrant calendar of events. Located in the beautiful Bedfordshire village of Stanbridge, it offers a cosy atmosphere, locally sourced food and a character-filled setting that celebrates both its history and its future.
Whether you’re visiting for a Sunday lunch, evening meal, live music event, family celebration or simply a drink with friends, The Five Bells remains a place where memories are made.
