The Crown Pub | Houghton Regis

👑 The Crown Inn – Houghton Regis
One of Bedfordshire’s oldest surviving pubs and believed to be the only traditional thatched public house in the local area.
Situated on East End Road, The Crown Inn has been serving the community for centuries. Records show the inn appearing on alehouse licence registers as early as 1822, while buildings on the site are recorded on the 1762 Duke of Bedford Estate Map, making it one of Houghton Regis’ most historic landmarks.
Today, The Crown remains a welcoming community pub combining traditional character with modern hospitality. The distinctive Grade II listed thatched building is instantly recognisable and continues to be a popular gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
Whether you’re stopping in for a drink, enjoying live music, meeting friends in the beer garden or simply admiring one of the area’s most historic buildings, The Crown offers a unique pub experience steeped in local heritage.
