Leighton Buzzard Community First Responders

Leighton Buzzard Community First Responders (CFR) are a dedicated team of highly trained volunteers responding to life-threatening medical emergencies across Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable, Houghton Regis, Eaton Bray and the surrounding villages.

Working alongside the East of England Ambulance Service, Community First Responders are often first on scene to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests, strokes, breathing difficulties and diabetic emergencies. Because they live and work locally, they can frequently reach patients in those critical first few minutes before an ambulance arrives.

Every responder is trained by the Ambulance Service and equipped to provide immediate emergency care, helping to stabilise patients and improve outcomes until paramedics take over.

As a volunteer-led charity, the group relies on fundraising, community support and local volunteers to continue providing this invaluable service to our communities.
